STREET CHILDREN

eventhough the fire tangles them inside their heart,

eventhough kindless hunger twists their stomach,

eventhough rain,heat &cold,

show no mercy on their lean bodies,

which are left out without clothes,

they are dragging their lives,

reforming into living corpses,

breathing life into their dying hearts…………

street children…………..

the one’s victimized by the fate……..

when chidhood frightens them as a ghost,

when insecurity shadows them wherever they go…

one……seeing no path,

one……for a path,

steps towards the pit of sin……….

stepping towards the huge fire bowl,

to over come the thorns of sorrows,

those little hands………..

few pick up the waste papers,

few do the domestic work,

few cut the pockets,

few turn to ammunition in the hands of anti social elements,

for a little circle of that stomach,

childhood being dragged to the nadir,

the little hearts,

where,poison of hatred is nurtured,

against the society,which scoffs at them…………

are the one’s in the schools are the children,

not these?

are they not the future citizens?

are they not eligible for our help?

don’t these kids with a heart of mirror,

reflect our incapability to cope up with this problem?

“we r not the government,

we r not the landlords,

we r not the billioneers,

we r not the social workers”,

this is what “we”,the comman people say,

when we look at the problem………………………..

can’t we just admit them in any organisation which helps such kids?

can’t we just show them a right path?

let’s think for a while and reform ourselves……………………..
